Basic Food Hygiene Course
With the introduction of the F&B WSQ system, WDA and NEA sought to raise the food hygiene standards and standardise the training of its Basic Food Hygiene (BFH). A new 7-hour programme WSQ Food Hygiene Course (WFHC) replaced BFH with effect from 1st June 2007.
Upon successful completion of the 7-hour course, followed with 1.5-hour assessment, a Statement of Attainment will be awarded to participants. This will accord the participants with a licence to operate / work in food preparation.
To equip participants with the knowledge and understanding on the importance of Food hygiene and safety while preparing or handling food.
Upon completion of this module, the trainee will have the knowledge and application skills with practising food and beverage safety and hygiene policies and procedures and be able to apply them to the workplace. This includes:
- Practising good personal hygiene
- Using safe ingredients
- Handling food safely
- Storing food safely
- Maintaining cleanliness of utensils, equipment and service/storage areas
Course Duration 7.5 hours
One day – 9.30am to 6.00pm (Inclusive of lunch and including two short breaks with light refreshments)
– 6 hours training
-1.5 hours for assessment
25 MCQ – 50 mins
Oral Question – 15mins
Practical – 25 mins
MCQ and Oral coupled with a Competency-Based Practical Assessment will be conducted on the same day
Upon successful completion of the programme, candidates will receive the WSQ Follow Food & Beverage Hygiene and Safety Policies & Procedures Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA)
Based on No-claim from training grant/ Foreigner without subsidy:
Nett course fee @ S$150.00 each.
Funding Support from SkillsConnect
Based on approval of claim from training grant:-
- Local and SPR participants – Published Rate @S$150.00 nett, before subsidy, amount subjected to allocated by WDA vary from $99.00 up to $142.50. Payment by Cheque only for subsidy participants and payable to ‘Skillmaster Training Centre Pte Ltd’. You need to login to www.skillsconnect.gov.sg to apply for training grant before the course start date.
Minimum of 10 paxs can be arranged to conduct the training at your requested venue (Training site equipped with basic kitchen facility)
