Level 3 Diploma in Business (L3DB)

The NCC Education Level 3 Diploma in Business (L3DB) is regulated by Ofqual. It is an Applied General qualification which allows candidates to demonstrate key transferable study skills, mathematical competency and applied cultural understanding, particularly in the context of international business, as well as a grounding in the essential concepts of business and economics.

What you’ll learn

The Level 3 Diploma in Business syllabus and assessment is suitable for students aged 16-19 as well as adult learners.

In addition, successful candidates will fulfil the main entry requirements for NCC Education’s Level 4 Diploma in Business (L4DB) as well as opening up opportunities to access a range of higher education courses or employment.

Examples of higher education opportunities include, but are not limited to, progressing to university degrees in Business Management, Marketing, International Business, Accounting and Finance and examples of employment opportunities include roles such as Accounts Clerk, Recruitment Consultant and Accounting Technician.

Units

CORE UNITS

To gain the Diploma, learners MUST achieve the following 3 core units that total 52 credits

Advanced Basics in Business
Developing Financial Forecasting and Accounting in Business
Developing Organisation Structure

ELECTIVE UNITS

Learners MUST choose at least 1 additional elective units for a total of 67/72* credits

Developing Entrepreneurship

Entry Requirements

For entry onto the NCC Education L3DB qualification, students must meet the following entry requirements:

Completed their GCSE/IGCSE ‘O’ Levels or an equivalent* qualification in their own country and passed 4 subjects with minimum grades of ‘C’, ‘4’ or equivalent* in each. These should include Mathematics and English.
Have a valid score of 5.5 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination or equivalent for students whose first language is not English. Alternatively, students can take the free NCC Education Higher English Placement Test which is administered by our Accredited Partner Centres.

The Level 3 Diploma in Business syllabus and assessment is suitable for students aged 16-19 as well as adult learners.

* Centres need to provide evidence to justify any equivalency decision (both qualification equivalency and grade equivalency) they make pertaining to any enrolments via non-GCSE or non-standard routes.

Academic Progression

Students that complete the Level 3 Diploma in Business (L3DB) can:

Enrol onto the NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Business (L4DB), equivalent to Year 1 of a UK bachelor’s degree.

Assessment

Assessments for all units will be offered in a number of assessment cycles throughout the year. The units are all assessed by either examination or assignments.

Core 1: Advance Basics in Business
Date: August 3^rd to September 7^th 2026 (Every Monday & Wednesday)

Core 2: Developing Financial Forecasting and Accounting in Business
Date: August 4^th to 3^rd September 2026 (Every Tuesday & Thursday)

Core 3: Developing Organisation Structure
Date: September 14^th to October 14^th 2026 (Every Monday & Wednesday)

Elective 1: Developing Entrepreneurship (Face to Face in Singapore)
Date: October 19^th to 30^th 2026 (Monday to Friday)

Second Cycle

Does SMTC provide any other services?

SMTC provide the service to liaise with the various University's Admission Office to process the NCC graduates' applications to attend their bachelor's degree program.
